Wellington-based high tech company Tekron has appointed Marc Michel as CEO.  Michel’s experience in technology, rapid innovation and global markets brings added focus to Tekron’s drive for rapid growth. Most recently, Marc Michel held a General Manager role at technology company BCS Group; prior to that he headed the global marine division at Navman. Tekron is a privately owned company which develops and designs products for precision timing requirements in industrial applications within the energy and telecommunications sectors.

16 April 2014: WELLINGTON, New Zealand - Tekron is pleased to announce a partnership with Chronos Technology to supply its entire range of time sync products to the UK, Sweden and Denmark. Tekron‘s high precision GPS clocks and time sync devices are designed for smart grid and substations where performance, longevity, and reliability are paramount.  Tekron’s GPS clocks are designed to synchronize SCADA, Protection and Control, Phasor measurement units, IEDs for sampled values, revenue meters and peripheral substation equipment. Charles Norwood, Tekron’s Chief Executive Officer said “We are pleased to be partnering with Chronos who are recognized as global sync and timing experts.  We are particularly pleased to be working with an organization that has an extensive support and service business which makes this a formidable partnership.”

Tekron International, a leading developer of precision timing products, today announced that it has developed a GPS clock for use in Long Term Evolution (LTE) cellular network base stations. Tekron developed the clock to meet the needs of a global supplier of telecommunications equipment. “We worked very closely with this company to develop a clock for LTE base stations. I am delighted that this clock is now in production” said Charles Norwood, Tekron’s General Manager. “We faced a number of stringent technical and commercial requirements” commented Mr Norwood.

Tekron International, a leading developer of precision timing products, today announced that it has signed an OEM agreement with a leading European developer of data communication products.The agreement will see the OEM Company selling rebranded Tekron clocks across the globe. A key reason they chose Tekron as an OEM partner was because of Tekron’s leading position in the development of IEEE 1588 (PTP) technology.
